Q
Is it safe? Are there any risks to me, or my baby?
A
Extensive studies over 30 years have found that Ultrasound has not
been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning
of all pregnancies is now normal throughout the United States. In
3D/4D scanning exactly the same type and intensity of Ultrasound
is used as with conventional 2D scanning.

Q What
is Show Me D Baby’s policy?
A If you
are not satisfied with the images we do obtain of your baby, you
must let us know before you leave the office. We will not charge
you for that visit nor will we be able to give you a DVD and
CD-Rom. If, however, you wait until you’ve left the office with
your DVD and CD-Rom and then decide you’re not satisfied with the
images, we cannot remove the charge.

Q Do I need an
appointment?
A Yes,
sessions are by appointment only and space is limited and fills
fast. Please call 888-674-6963 to schedule your appointment today.

Q
When is the best time to schedule my ultrasound?
A You can
schedule your ultrasound appointment between 18 - 36 weeks into
your pregnancy; however, the best time is between 26 and 28 weeks.
At this time, the baby has well-defined facial features and still
plenty of room to move around. Also, if you wish to have more than
one session to document the different stages of your pregnancy, we
can set up the appointments for you in advance. To determine how
many weeks you are, please see our Home page, type in your due
date and it will automatically calculate the weeks for you.

Q
How soon should I book my appointment?
A We
recommend 3 to 4 weeks in advance, so that we can accommodate your
schedule. If you are flexible in your schedule, we can usually get
you within a day or two.
Back to FAQ
Q How long does it
take?
A It
normally takes about 45 minutes for the session the CD, DVD/VHS,
and pictures to be printed.

Q Can family and friends come with me to my
appointment?
A We
encourage you to bring friends, family, and/or siblings. This is a
great opportunity for everyone to bond with the baby before it is
born. We have toys to keep children entertained if they start to
get restless. We can accommodate up to 5 guests comfortably. Your
guests will enjoy the premiere of your baby in our state of the
art home theater surroundings.

Q

A No. This
is an elective non-diagnostic ultrasound and is not covered by
your medical insurance. We gladly accept cash, Visa or MasterCard.
We do not accept personal checks, American Express or Discover.

Q
Will I be able to find out the gender of my baby?
A
Absolutely! If you would like to know the gender we will gladly
give you that information, but if you would like to keep the
gender a surprise, just let us know. Keep in mind, that before you
come to the appointment, you must have established prenatal care
with your physician.

Q
Will I always get a perfect picture of my baby?
A Many
factors affect the quality of the images (fetal position, amount
of amniotic fluid, amount of maternal tissue). We promise to make
every effort to obtain the best possible images of your baby. If
the baby remains uncooperative through your session it may be
necessary to repeat the scan at a later time when the position has
changed. We want you to be happy with the quality of your product
and encourage you to share any concerns with us prior to leaving
your session.
Back to FAQ
Q
What factors determine the quality of my images?
A There
are several factors. These include fetal position, placenta
placement and fetal activity. The most crucial factor is having
enough amniotic fluid in front of the baby's face; the more fluid,
the better the image. We request that you hydrate yourself for 2-3
days prior to your appointment. We will do our best to obtain the
highest quality images possible.
Back to FAQ
Q
What happens if you are unable to get any images?
A If we
are unable to get images of the baby’s face, due to fetal
position, we do not charge you for the session. We will have you
walk around and after a few attempts we will ask you to
re-schedule.
